The Sacred Musician Incubator is a 3 to 9 month guided journey for spirit-led musicians to develop professional-level musicianship, live their undeniable medicine, and share music as prayer in circles, ceremonies, and stages - where your light can shine the brightest.
I'm Benny Oyama, at your service.

I created The Sacred Musician Incubator because I see the light in so many people who carry songs and prayers in their hearts, and are in need of the foundation and rigor to make their music manifest in the world. To become the kind of person music flows through beautifully; to become a medicine musician - with all of the deep inner work that requires.
It's a joy to share 20+ years of musical and spiritual studies with various masters with my community. My mission is to genuinely help you develop a strong, meaningful practice with the guitar, voice, and buffalo drum through careful, precise study of medicine songs over the course of the incubator. By becoming the fully embodied and fully expressed version of your musical self, we grow together as a community.

What's included?
Take your musicianship to the next level in a safe container,
with like-minded people who are on a similar journey.
Develop a consistent musical practice, build confidence with your instrument, and develop the essential skills of rhythm, harmony, melody, and accompaniment.
Much more than learning to play with fluency (although you will certainly do that), you'll begin transforming your relationship with discipline, discomfort, and the mechanics of the learning process itself.
From there the music emerges naturally, like magic, and your music becomes a portal to opening doors to greater spiritual depth and meaningful connections within the world.
This experience includes a blend of live trainings, community, pre-recorded material on a structured online platform, and individualized support.

Your journey begins in one of two pods:
The Medicine Music 12 Week Immersion is for you if:
You have already prepared the basic open chords on guitar (C, D, G, Am, Em, Dm, A, and have explored barre chords.). You have a few strumming patterns and fingerpicking patterns that you recycle.
You have already begun independently to learn to play and sing a few (or more than a few) medicine songs, and you are feeling stagnant/stuck, like you keep repeating the same things over and over again.
You have a vision for the musician you could be and the way this would transform your life, but are consistently facing a lack of confidence and struggle to maintain a disciplined practice. You're ready to learn for real.

Beginner's Path 12 Week Immersion is for you if:
You are in the early stages of your journey (complete beginner or very beginner) with the guitar/voice/music in general and want to commit to stop being a person who has always wanted to learn guitar and become a real musician.
You are seeking the quality of guidance that can save you hundreds of hours of confusion and needing to relearn and undo bad habits down the line.

The Sacred Musician Incubator is designed to help you become an exceptional musician, song leader, and musical space holder within ceremonial, contemplative, and community settings. While we explore the philosophy of sacred music across diverse wisdom traditions, this program is not designed to train medicine ceremony facilitators. We encourage students to pursue lineage-specific guidance for ceremonial facilitation while developing mastery in the musical arts that support these spaces.
